Intel Frost Canyon, the new 10th Gen NUC generation

Compact computers are a growing trend in the market. Some users are tired of hulks and are especially ideal for offices. Intel offers users and assemblers the NUC, which can be purchased with a housing that covers it or simply the PCB. These systems offer the foundation, which is motherboard, processor, and connectivity. Then each user adds the RAM and storage they need.

This new Frost Canyon solution is based on 10th Generation Intel Core processors. This system implements one of the company's new processors and its own UHD graphics. The i219-V Gigabit LAN chip is implemented that offers WiFi 6 AX200 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0. The rest of the components can be chosen.

Intel Introduces NUC Frost Canyon

As usual, the company offers us these solutions without RAM memory and without a storage unit. This system supports up to 64GB DDR4 through two DIMM sockets for this type of drives. Internally we have space for 2.5-inch SSD or HDD units. The drive also features an M.2 NVMe SSD slot.

This unit has dimensions greater than the usual ones because it has the capacity to house 2.5-inch HDD and SSD units. It's not a significant size increase either, just a few extra inches. The unit is 117x112x51mm, which is not an oversized size either.

Regarding connectivity, this unit on the back has an HDMI, an Ethernet port, two USB 3.1 and a Thunderbolt port. The front has a USB 3.1 Type-A and a USB 3.1 Type-C, as well as a jack connector for sound.

The launch date has not been specified, but we do know that the basic model will be priced at 679 euros and will go up to 1.295 euros. We have to keep in mind that the units do not have RAM, SSD and operating system.
