AMD indicates that it will not offer more support to the Intel Kaby Lake-G

We have to go back to the third quarter of 2018 , when Intel surprisingly launched processors with AMD Vega iGPUs. Those Intel Kaby Lake-G processors surprised the world, being a very unusual collaboration. Unfortunately, these processors, intended for Intel NUC systems, weren't a good buy for users. Now AMD has stopped supporting the iGPUs in these processors.

Those who bought a system with an Intel Kaby Lake-G processor, over time, have been seen to buy a nefarious product. AMD's first graphics driver update for these processors arrived in March 2020, more than a year and a half later. Now, just three months later, it has decided to stop supporting the integrated graphics on this processor.

AMD stops supporting Intel Kaby Lake-G

The announcement of these processors was already quite surprising at the time, for years that both companies had not collaborated. The most curious thing is that it happened at a time when Raja Koduri went from AMD to Intel. But it seems that neither Intel nor AMD had much interest in these 'gaming' processors working.

It should be noted that Intel has already discontinued these processors and it is certainly logical that AMD has decided to eliminate the support. What's more, Windows 10 20.04 cannot be installed on computers with Kaby Lake-G processors. This hardware is indicated as unsupported.

According to Tom's Hardware, Intel appears to be requesting AMD to continue to maintain the graphics drivers. Of course, Intel would only refer to Intel NUC 8 Extreme systems. On the part of AMD at the moment there are no statements, but seen what has been seen, it seems that Lisa Su's company will pass these processors.

Maybe at that time they were interested, but their APUs are superior to Intel processors.
