Although we are all waiting for this eight-core processor or processors, for now, what is confirmed on the Intel website is an eight-core Xeon E based on Coffee Lake. Specifically, this processor is called Xeon E-2186M, which is within the Coffee Lake-S family and is very similar to the Core i7 8700K, but in this case, this processor will work at a frequency of 2.8GHz and would reach up to 4.8GHz in Boost mode.
Before this confirmation, a benchmark was filtered regarding an eight-core Coffee Lake-S processor working at a frequency of 2.6GHz, which would indicate this new processor, which would be in the development phase and now it would be ready for use. be introduced to the market.
