Intel NUC Cannon Lake with a Core i3 8121U @ 10nm and the AMD Radeon RX 540

Intel's NUC systems have performed very well as they are good quality solutions in a small space. There are different versions and features and the family will soon be extended. Intel is preparing the Cirmson Canyon, specifically the NUC8i3CYSM. This is characterized by implementing a 3nm Core i10 processor with discrete AMD Radeon graphics. A solution thinking about office automation, entertainment and the like.

Perhaps the most interesting thing is that it carries the Core i3 8121U processor of Cannon Lake architecture that has two cores and four threads. This processor works at a base frequency of 2.2GHz and in Boost mode it can reach 3.2GHz. It stands out that it is accompanied by AMD Radeon RX 540 graphics with 512 Stream Processors of Polaris architecture and that it integrates 2GB GDDR5. The system comes with 8GB LPDDR4 @ 2666MHz in Dual Channel configuration. For storage, a 2.5 ”HDD with 1TB capacity has been implemented. Space has been made available for an M.2 2280 SSD with PCIe 3.0 x4 NVM3 interface.
This system also implements 802.11ac WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0, in addition to a Gigabit Ethernet port. An infrared sensor for remote control is also provided. The rest of the connectivity is based on an SDXC card reader, four USB 3.1 ports, two HDMI 2.0b outputs, 7.1 sound output and front headphone connection. It has dimensions of 117x112x52mm.
Regarding its performance, this system in addition to being excellent for office automation and entertainment, is capable of moving DiRT 3 in FullHD resolution with high graphics reaching 70 FPS. You can also move Battlefield 4 in FullHD with medium graphic quality at 53FPS. It's not bad at all. On prices or date of arrival to the market, we do not have data.
