Intel will move the H310 chipset to 22nm lithography
It appears that Intel intends to manufacture the H310 chipset using 22nm lithography in the face of the collapse of its 14nm machines.
Due to the large number of 14nm processors that Intel has on the market and at least three more that will arrive in the next few days. The problem is that all their facilities are at maximum capacity and they still have significant problems in terms of 10nm. The problem has involved requesting TSMC to manufacture some chipsets, but the company is also considering going back to 22nm designs for some of its solutions.
The Intel H310 chipset will be developed based on the 22nm lithography.
Intel seems to be having more and more problems in terms of the production of processors and is that the demand has exceeded 100% of the company's production. Currently some processors have risen in price due to the inability of Intel to produce at a higher speed. The company will use 22nm for the Intel H310 but the rest of the chipsets would go to TSMC that would be manufactured in their 14nm process.
Although it is a rumor, it seems quite likely that the H310 chipset will be produced again in 22nm and thus reduce the production pressure of 14nm. The usual thing has always been that the company's chipsets were a generation behind the lithography used by the processors, but in this case, greater efficiency has been sought in systems with lower consumption, so this change is not relevant at the level general.
The problems are expected to persist for some time and the price of processors may increase from now until the end of the year. Chipsets based on 22nm may have some sort of naming change for the H310.
