Intel Introduces 28 Core / 56 Thread HEDT Processor

It was only a matter of time before Intel brought the “Skylake-X” silicon to the consumer and business segment with its Extreme line, bringing its “Skylake XCC” (extreme number of cores) 700mm² die to a very specific segment of its audience.

Without saying the model names, Intel made it clear that it is launching a new 28-core / 56-thread processor. The company did not specify the processor socket, and we doubt if it is LGA2066 for the simple reason that the Skylake XCC have a 6-channel memory interface. However, this processor is clocked at 2.70 GHz (nominal), and without revealing the Turbo speeds, Intel managed to turn it up and keep it steady at 5,00 GHz, earning 7,334 nT Cinebench points.

This product will be released in Q4-2018.
