Intel Mocks AMD Ryzen Pro Advertising With Core i9-9900K Promotion
Intel mocks at the expense of a possible error in the promotion of the AMD Ryzen Pro, saying that they are the only ones with a CPU that reaches 5.0GHz.
The release of AMD's Ryzen 3000 processors is generating a lot of buzz. Intel is a bit stung, because these new processors are stealing a significant portion of their market share. A few days ago, AMD was promoting its Ryzen Pro processors, aimed at the professional segment, with added security features. The company says these processors are capable of reaching speeds of up to 5.0 GHz.
The issue is that the Ryzen Pro arrive in Boost mode up to 4.1GHz. AMD has not yet said whether it was a mistake or misleading advertising. They just pulled the YouTube campaign and it was never heard from again. We all know that the Ryzen 3000 are not very fond of overclocking, because they already work very to the limit.
Intel mocks the AMD Ryzen Pro campaign
How could it be otherwise, Intel has taken the advertising of AMD and has made fun of it. John Bonini, General Manager of Intel Desktop, Workstation and Gaming Systems, has posted an image on Intel's official account.
The company has used the AMD error to promote the Core i9-9900K, which can reach 5.0GHz over the air despite being manufactured in 14nm. The Ryzen 7 3800X comes the closest, boasting a 4.5GHz boost frequency. This AMD processor manufactured in 7nm can reach 5.0GHz with liquid nitrogen.
Intel has scoffed at this by stating that it is 5.0GHz "regularly" cooled by liquid nitrogen. This is obviously a way of making fun of AMD, quite subtly.
We have to highlight that the Core i9-9900K in all cores works at 4.7-4.8GHz, and reaches 5.0GHz only in one core. The Core i9-9900KS, which we know little about, is the only one capable of reaching 5.0GHz on all cores. We will see how this processor will work in terms of temperatures.
