Intel Xe 'Arctic Sound' is seen with a TDP of 500W

Since the signing of Raja Koduri was certified by Intel, there has been a lot of talk about the company's graphics. Koduri's main mission is to develop graphics that compete with solutions from AMD and NVIDIA. So far we have known the DG1, a solution built into Intel 10nm processors based on Intel Xe architecture.

The Intel Xe DG1 has 96 Execution Units or 768 Shaders Processors with a TDP of 75W. This graphics card has been made for software developers, so they can adapt to this architecture. A graphics that will not reach the market, only to software developers, video games and the like, in order to polish games and tools.

Possible Intel Xe 'Arctic Sound' leak?

When we talk about leaks, we talk about unconfirmed data that sometimes know where it comes from. A few weeks ago there was talk of Intel's LGA1159 socket and AMD's TRX80, which turned out to be fake.

This new leak speaks of a 128 EU GPU (Execution Units) or 1024 Shaders with a TDP of 150W. Above we have the 256 EU or 2048 Shaders with a TDP of 300W. Finally, the most advanced model would be a 512 EU or 4096 Shaders graphic with a TDP between 400-500W.

The leak appears not to refer to commercial graphics, but to special solutions for Ponte Vecchio. As we can see there is a column that indicates 'Tiles', referring to a chiplet system. We can see that the 4-tile models have up to 500W of consumption and an input voltage of 48V. Graphics cards on the market cannot withstand these stresses.

There is also a column that indicates the 'Card FF' or form factor of the graphics card. We see that there are three models with a custom PCIe interface and four models with a standard PCIe interface. We will have to wait until Intel gives us data regarding these graphics and architecture.
