Intel Xe is seen again in a benchmark with 96 Execution Units

Intel's big bet for the future is the development of its own GPUs, although there is very little information about it. Intel Xe will be a new graphics architecture that should offer a huge leap in performance over current solutions. The first processors to integrate an Xe will be those based on the Tiger Lake architecture of notebook computers.

The benchmark of an Intel Xe that would have 96 Execution Units (EU) has been leaked. This translates to a total of 768 execution cores, the same number as the so-called Xe DG1. According to the data shown, this graph has a frequency of 1.5GHz, has 1MB of L2 cache and 3GB of VRAM memory.

All the data, including the statements of Raja Koduri a few days ago, indicate that for now the Xe architecture will be destined for the low range. So this graphics card, if it is a dedicated graphics card, will be destined for the entry range. It seems that at the moment Intel wants to compete in simple games under FullHD resolutions. Rumors indicate that it could compete with the NVIDIA GTX 1650.

Intel Xe architecture is designed to provide solutions for three different product ranges. The Xe-LPs will be the simplest and will be integrated into processors or discrete dedicated solutions. Silicon, at its maximum range, should offer up to 120 EU which is equivalent to 968 execution cores.

These Intel Xe DG1 will initially arrive this year and by 2021 the Xe DG2 will arrive. Possibly the second version of this graphics architecture offers a great leap in performance and is ideal for gaming. Everything at the moment is very theoretical and the company has not yet reported anything about it. We already know that Intel is not a particularly transparent company.
