Amazon Web Services today announced the general availability of new Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances, equipped with 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors . This release is the latest in a series of instances featuring 4th generation Xeon processors.
Such server processors that offer the highest total cost of ownership, plus the most accelerators built into a CPU to power critical workloads. This makes them ideal for AI, database, networking, and business application work.
AWS improves the capacities of its instances with the new Intel Xeon
The new Amazon EC2 instances offer 4th generation Intel Xeon accelerators through AWS services. Their integrated accelerators, such as Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions, provide a viable alternative for customers with growing demands for AI workloads. They can also meet inference performance metrics for large language models with fewer than 20.000 billion parameters.

Intel and AWS offer a range of options tailored to different workload, performance, and price needs. This provides ease and flexibility to address future digital infrastructure demands.
M7i-flex and M7i instances are available in the following regions US East (Ohio), US East (New Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland) .
What M7i-flex instances offer
These instances present themselves as the easiest way to gain price-performance advantage for most general-purpose workloads. They are designed to run general-purpose workloads such as web servers, applications, virtual desktops, batch processing, microservices, databases, and enterprise applications.
Features of the M7i instances include the following:
- Price performance benefits for key workloads: Offer better performance of large application and database servers, game servers, CPU-based machine learning, and video streaming.
- Larger instances with up to 192 vCPUs and up to 768 GiB of memory.
- New built-in accelerators that enable efficient offloading and acceleration of data operations that help optimize performance for databases, encryption and compression, and queuing workloads.
- Up to 15% more price performance compared to M6i instances.
Intel has worked closely with AWS to deliver our feature-packed 4th Generation Xeon processors to their cloud customers, many of whom have benefited from their performance and value for months in private and public previews. Today, we're excited to bring this same real value to cloud customers around the world.
