Intel Xeon Ice Lake-SP @ 10nm would hit the market in Q2 2020
A supposed Roadmap of Intel Xeon processors appears, showing that in Q2020 10 we will see Ice Lake-SP @ XNUMXnm processors.
Much is said about Intel 10nm processors, because these do not finish reaching the market. This is a major problem for the company and more so now that the new AMD Ryzen 3000 arrive. The situation in the Intel processor market is not good at all. But now a Roadmap has been leaked that has to do with the Intel Xeon. According to this roadmap, Intel will launch Ice Lake-SP processors based on 2020nm in the second quarter of 10. This means that they will be Intel Xeon @ 10nm processors.
Intel to launch Xeon @ 10nm processors by Q2020 XNUMX
These processors will initially have a total of 26 cores and 52 processing threads. They will offer eight channels for DDR4 RAM and will implement a PCIe 4.0 interface. Little else is known about these new processors and there is no reference to commercial processors. The roadmap only talks about Xeon processors for FusionServer V5.
We would see how the Intel Xeon Cooper Lake-P arrive at the beginning of 2020, which would also have a limit of 26 cores, but in this case passed at 14nm ++. These processors would support six channels for DDR4 and a PCIe 3.0 interface. In the middle of the first quarter of 2020 we would see the Cooper Lake-SP. These processors would be of high performance reaching 48 cores and 96 threads, only at 14nm ++. These would support eight channels for DDR4 and PCIe 3.0 interface.
It would not be until the first quarter of 2021 when we see the largest Intel Xeon processors. Sapphire Rapids-SP would already be based on 10nm and would have 48 cores and 96 processing threads. These new processors would have eight DDR5 channels and a PCIe 5.0 interface. We will see if the 10nm arrives first for the Xeon or before the Core version arrives for the gaming market.
