Kingston KC600: Introduced new SSD units that will reach up to 2TB capacity
Kingston Announced New KC600 SSDs Coming in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB Capacities
Improvements and advancements in NAND Flash chip manufacturing have significantly reduced the price of SSDs. Along with the price reduction, SSD capacity has also increased. Kingston, one of the leading SSD manufacturers, has introduced the Kingston KC600 series, designed to offer a balance of capacity, performance, and price.
These new KC600 drives will arrive in capacities of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB in 2.5-inch form factor. The Silicon Motion SM2259 controller has been used for its operation and memory management. Thanks to this driver we have XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption and it is compatible with TCG Opal 2.0.
Kingston KC600, new SSD drives for the general segment
The KC600 units are designed to meet the needs of the average user. The most basic model, 256GB, offers us a read speed of 550MB / s and a write speed of 550MB / s. The other three models available will reach a maximum write speed of 520MB / s. Finally note that the 4K random read is 90IOPS and the 000K random write is 4IOPS.
3-layer 96D NAND-type memories have been used by Kingston for these SSDs. For the 256GB model you get a durability of 150TB and it reaches up to 1200TB for the 2TB units. The maximum consumption for the 2TB unit is 3.2W, with an average consumption in standby of 0.2W and 0.06W in idle.
Only the price of the 256GB units that will arrive for 49.68 euros and the 512GB unit for 81.72 euros have been revealed. The price of the 1TB and 2TB units has not been disclosed at the moment.
