Kingston receives validation from Intel for DDR5 memory

Memory maker Kingston Technology Company announced today that its upcoming DDR5 UDIMMS have received Intel platform validation to ensure that its DDR5 memory is compatible with Intel CPUs. This compatibility validation is the first related to the DDR5 memory format between the memory manufacturer and the CPU manufacturer to ensure that both solutions are compatible and can take advantage of their qualities in tune.

Kingston's introductory portfolio of DDR5 RAM will be the first in a series of high-performance multi-form factor drives, ranging from low to high capacity. all of them will support the DDR5-based platforms that will debut next year.

Kingston is now DDR5 ready

After developing the next generation of DDR memory, Kingston will be providing more than 10.000 DDR5 UDIMM samples to leading motherboard manufacturers and technology partners to support the launch of the platform. By supporting partners from the start, Kingston hopes that the launch of its units as well as the platform will pay off as they will have had time to prepare for the launch.

Earlier this week, Kingston announced that it had been ranked as the top third-party DRAM module vendor globally by revenue by analyst firm TrendForce. It is the eighteenth consecutive year in which the company has achieved the first position.

Yo Chen, Vice President of Kingston's DRAM Business Unit, commented that they are looking forward to launching their DDR5 memory catalog and have made significant investments to enable its release. They have stockpiled components during the current shortage to upgrade their production infrastructure with the latest DDR5 platforms. They expect to be prepared for high sales volume and high demand should a surge in users suddenly want to try the platform.
