The NVIDIA GTX 1650 uses a Volta NVENC encoder instead of the other Turing graphics.
They find that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card implements the NVENC Volta encoder, instead of the one used in the other Turing architecture graphics.
This week the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 for desktops and GTX 1650 Mobile and GTX 1660 Ti Mobile for laptops were released. The new graphics is based on the Turing TU117-300 architecture silicon. The logical thing would be to think that this graph has all the benefits of the Turing architecture. One of these properties would be to perform integer and floating point operations at the same time. It has a unified cache and allows the use of adapted shading, aspects that improve performance in games.
Not all that glitters in the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 is gold
One of the features of the Turing architecture graphics is a new NVENC encoder. This offers us an improvement in efficiency of 15%. Special improvements are also added to avoid problems when recording and streaming.
It has been discovered about the GTX 1650, that despite having all the improvements of Turing, it does not bring an NVENC of this architecture. Actually this graphic implements a Volta NVENC, something that subtracts some of the features of this graphic. One of the salient features of the new GTX 16 Series is lost.
Compared to the competition, this GTX 1650 underperforms AMD's RX 570 at a higher price. There are several factors that show the lack of interest in this new low-end graphics card.
Although it does not have the encoder of the Turing architecture it does not seem the best, we are talking about a very simple graph. Nor is it the best solution on the market to play and stream at the same time, no matter how much encoder it has. We are talking about a graphics that is what it is, a solution for the efficient low range with an unattractive price.
