AMD Ryzen APUs based on 7nm will arrive by the end of the year at the earliest
First rumors about the AMD Ryzen APUs based on the 7nm lithography would hit the market in late 2019 or early 2020.
Without a doubt AMD has hit the nail on the head with the Ryzen processors. These processors have the characteristic of being modular processors that offer excellent performance. The only market for processors that does not quite win is that of laptops. The AMD Ryzen Mobile that were presented a few weeks ago based on the Zen + architecture with 12nm lithography. They have worked quite well, but the Ryzen Mobile based on 7nm lithography are still a long way off.
AMD Ryzen Mobile based on 7nm will not arrive until the end of 2019
It seems that AMD would be waiting until the last quarter of 2019 or perhaps for the first quarter of 2020. This is because the company wants to implement Navi graphics in the new APUs based on the 7nm lithography. The combination of Zen 2 cores based on 7nm and Navi graphics also on 7nm would be a groundbreaking combination. Apparently these new APUs would be the basis for the Custom SoCs for the upcoming Sony and Microsoft consoles.
The launch could coincide with the arrival of the Intel Ice Lake processors, which are based on the 10nm lithography. It should be noted that Intel processors would arrive with the new generation of iGPU powered by the development of Raja Koduri. These processors from Intel should arrive by the end of 2019, if no more problems appear.
Typically AMD APUs based on Zen architecture arrive six to nine months later than CPUs. As we have highlighted a few weeks ago, APUs based on 12nm lithography were launched, while Ryzen processors based on 7nm are expected to arrive in the first half of the year.
