The new Gen11 Intel iGPUs will have twice the performance of the current Gen9

During the GDC 2019, a conference will be given by Intel on Gen11 iGPUs based on 10nm, where data will be given about them.

The signing of Raja Koduri by Intel was an important bell and we all knew it was for the development of their new graphics. The company is hard at work developing its new dedicated graphics cards and improving iGPUs. Intel's iGPUs for XNUMXth-generation processors are expected to feature an iGPU with twice the performance per clock cycle. Something that is a really brutal jump.

Upcoming Intel iGPUs to Deliver Double the Performance

For these new iGPUs the company expects developers to think about these graphics for their games. Michel Apodaca from Intel, during the GDC 2019, will give a talk in which he will delve into the new Intel graphics architecture. It is expected to explain some of the 'innovative features' and new 'building blocks' for 11th Gen processors.

Everything indicates that the GDC will reveal some of the important changes made to these iGPUs that will improve performance in games. It will thus be a preview of the iGPUs that will be integrated into the Core for the generation that will arrive at the end of the year and future generations.

According to the data, the graphics for the Gen11 will be based on the company's own 10nm lithography. These processors will be released later this year, with twice the performance per clock cycle in graphics compared to Gen9 graphics. The Gen10 has been completely skipped.

This iGPU will have up to 64 execution units, a truly spectacular increase compared to the 24 units that implement the Gen9 (Skylake) and Gen9.5 (Kaby Lake / Coffee Lake / Coffee Lake Refresh) processors. Some rumors also suggest that it will offer up to 1 TFOP of gross power and will have HDR capacity.
