Lisa Su says the PlayStation 5 has a “special spice”

They interview Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, and assures that the new Sony PlayStation 5 carries a "special seasoning", but without giving more details.

Sony's next console is giving a lot to talk about lately. It is known that there is still a year or so before the new PlayStation 5 hits the market. This will be based on an APU developed by AMD especially for this console. Theoretically it will have an AMD Ryzen processor and an AMD Navi graphics based on 7nm lithography. About this has spoken Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, who says she is proud to have contributed to the Sony console. It ensures that there is "special seasoning" in it.

"Special Seasoning" on the PlayStation 5, according to Lisa Su

During an interview by Jim Cramer to Lisa Su, she spoke about the development of the new Sony console. He highlighted that the console has a "special seasoning" that feeds the chip created for the platform. We have no idea what he means, but at least the way he puts it is quite funny.

“We are proud to be part of the next generation of Sony PlayStation. This was a long association with them. We love gaming. We believe that the gaming market has great growth. What we did with Sony is really creating something for your application, a special seasoning. It is a great honor for us. We are excited about what the new PlayStation can do, and happy to be a part of it, "said Lisa Su during the interview.

Possibly this "special seasoning" refers to the GPU being able to drive RayTracing. There is a lot of rumor about the support of this technology in the console, although nothing is clear. The PS5 devkit has recently been said to be rated at 13TFLOPS, which is about the same as the Radeon VII (13.44TFLOPS). We will see what is true in all this or if it is just hype.
