ASUS RoG GTX 1180 Strix listed at a Vietnam retailer
They haven't been officially unveiled, but a Vietnam retailer has listed the ASUS RoG GTX 1180 Strix with a Turing GPU and GDDR6 memory.
We know this seems like a joke, but at the moment it has no sign of being one. In a store in Vietnam, completely by surprise, an NVIDIA GTX 1180 graphics card has been listed, which at the moment, have not been officially presented. Specifically, a custom model has been listed, such as the ASUS RoG GTX 1180 Strix, which uses a new generation GPU, which in the end, this architecture, will receive the name Turing.
The ASUS RoG GTX 1180 Strix appears by surprise.
This graphics card that has just been listed, appears with the GT104 silicon, which would be the first graphics on the market based on Turing, thus being the long-awaited replacement of the Pascal architecture. Turing would not be more than a Volta without Tensor Cores for the gaming segment and it will not use HBM2 memory, which is very expensive and whose stock is limited, making use of GDDR6 memories for the gaming market, which will allow a much more adjusted price.
Let's take the data with tweezers, but apparently there is GTX 1180, it would have a total of 3584 CUDA Cores and 16GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit memory interface. These chips allow a frequency of 14GHz, which offers us a total bandwidth of 409.6GB / s.
It has been listed for a fairly off-market price of $ 1500, but this is not at all in line with the expected price, which would be about $ 800.
The strangest thing of all is that it is listed with an availability date of September 28. We must emphasize that NVIDIA always launches the Founders Edition model, before the models customized by the different partners and is usually a single month on the market, therefore, these new NVIDIA should come out at the end of August. Be that as it may, let's be cautious and take this with a grain of salt.
