Micron Drives DDR5 Adoption Through Technology Enablement Program
The enablement program for the new DDR5 RAM has just been announced by Micron. This will allow partners to receive technical resources and products in advance. The Technology Enablement Program will assist in the design, development, and qualification of upcoming platforms using DDR5. So the process of adopting this new standard has started.
We could say that this announcement is a complement to Micron's announcement from January of this year, where they offered samples of DDR5 DIMMs. At that time, samples were offered to data center developers. Within the DDR5 Technology Enablement Program (DPT) we find companies such as Cadence, Montage, Rambus, Renesas and Synopsys.
Micron Announces Supply of DDR5 Memory Information
DDR5 memories offer improvements in performance, density and reliability. This is important because Data Centers increasingly require greater memory bandwidth due to the increasing number of cores. In addition, customers increasingly demand reliability, availability and ease of service. Note that DDR5 will offer more than twice the effective bandwidth of DDR4. This will help alleviate per-core bandwidth saturation, improving performance and power management.
Micron has been driving deep technical engagements with the world's largest server and hyperscale companies to help them better understand how DDR5 can benefit their unique workloads.

Retail partners also play an important role in the development and adoption of this technology. The DPT program offers distributors, value-added resellers and OEM / ODM new and innovative products based on these memories.
[irp]As the first to deliver a silicon-proven DDR5 memory interface chipset for DDR5 DIMMs, Rambus is pleased to enable the DDR5 ecosystem with our RCD and data buffer chips. We are excited to work with leaders like Micron to deliver high-quality solutions that accelerate time to market and DDR5 memory adoption in cutting-edge data centers and cloud systems.
