Microsoft fixes AMD CPUs L3 cache issue in Windows 11

Microsoft has finally released a cumulative update KB5007215 for Windows 11, and with it, AMD's multicore CPUs fix their uneven performance at the launch of the operating system. The fix to the L3 cache issue has been resolved and should reach all machines, along with security updates and patches for other Windows 11 issues.

AMD had already released fixes for the problem, but now that fix is built into the operating system itself. This should mean that all AMD users have access to the full performance of their CPU and will not have to look for the patch on the official website, nor will future AMD users with Windows 11.

There should be no more cache issues with AMD in Windows 11

There is a short video on the Microsoft support site that goes over what the patch contains. The L3 cache issue affecting AMD's slow performance is the first one they mention, but they don't explain it in great detail. they simply state that this is an L3 cache issue where some devices with AMD Ryzen processors experience application performance issues and that has now been resolved.

Another issue that has been resolved with the KB5007215 update is an issue with the new Startup and Taskbar not working properly after upgrading from Windows 10. This is a problem that many users have noticed seeing first hand. Although the main PC was running Windows 11 preview smoothly, when upgrading to Windows 11, the Start menu and taskbar could not be used.

Even though Windows 11 is spreading more and more, many users are noticing problems that leave it worse than Windows 10, so there is not much incentive to upgrade. Users have about four years until Microsoft announces that it is abandoning all Windows 10 updates, giving them a window of time to update their operating system and for Microsoft to fix Windows 11 problems.
