A mod increases the RAM of the Asus Rog Ally to 32 GB

Anyone who has handled the components of a PC a little will know that improve RAM memory from a desktop PC is easy, but doing it on laptops is very complicated since you are lucky if a model does not have it welded. Additionally, it requires specific disassembly knowledge and the right tools for the job. That's more for modders, like Slick Buys who has managed to improve the RAM memory of a Asus ROG Ally through a mod.
The project wanted to provide it with 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory. For reference, the benchmarks rate its 16 GB dual-channel LPDDR5 ram at a frequency of 6400 MT/s. That is, it has doubled it and made it faster.
The Asus RoG Ally can be modded if you have the right equipment
SlickBuys Mods and Repairs is a company that offers modification and update services. In a video that they have uploaded to their YouTube channel, one of their employees has modified a ROG Ally to double the memory capacity of the device and increase the memory speed from 6400 MT/s to 7500 MT/s. Memory has changed from default LPDDR5 to LPDDR5X.

This modification has required removing and replacing four memory modules, and remove and reprogram the BIOS chip for new modules. The mod upgrades Samsung's original 5GB LPDDR6400-16 memory modules with a 4x4GB (32Gb) configuration to Samsung's LPDDR5X-7500 memory with a 4x8GB (64Gb) configuration. Memory speed has increased by 17%, which will be significantly noticeable in gaming performance, as AMD RDNA 3 iGPU depends on system memory.
Will this change be worth it? It could improve the performance of some games, and reach some that the basic configuration did not reach by a hair's breadth.
