MSI announced which of their monitors are NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, the vast majority of which are on the market.
A few weeks ago it was announced by NVIDIA that it was adding support for FreeSync monitors. The company published a list of twelve G-Sync compatible monitors. It was noted that it could be that other monitors could support this technology, but that it might not work properly. So the Pascal and Turing architectures support Adaptative Sync, the VESA standard on which FreeSync is based. Now MSI announces that most of its monitors are G-Sync Compatible.

It should be noted that NVIDIA has pointed out that most of the FreeSync features are outside the Adaptive Sync specifications and that therefore the Pascal and Turing graphics may not work correctly with these monitors. MSI has announced that many of their monitors have G-Sync support, which is great news.
It should be noted that this MSI list does not specify if they are based on Adaptive Sync or FreeSync, but they can work with G-Sync. Only the Optix G24V and Optix G241VC do not support G-Sync.
For G-Sync to work we need to have the graphics and the monitor connected via DisplayPort. There is also the restriction that G-Sync can only work with one of the monitors that we have connected. This means that in configurations with two or more monitors it is recommended to only activate G-Sync on one of the monitors.
FreeSync technology until now was only compatible with AMD graphics. NVIDIA's turnaround is that G-Sync monitors are expensive to produce because they require additional hardware that costs more than $ 100. It is for this reason that most manufacturers opt for FreeSync, because it is simpler and cheaper.
