MSI will update its first generation AMD Ryzen boards to support the Ryzen 3000 Series
Finally MSI rectifies and / or clarifies that its motherboards for first generation AMD Ryzen will support the new AMD Ryzen 3000 Series.
A few hours ago we indicated that MSI would not support the AMD Ryzen 3000 Series on the X370 and B350 motherboards. A user asked MSI support in Germany if their MSI X370 Xpower Gaming Titanium motherboards would have BIOS for the Ryzen 3000. This top-of-the-line first-generation motherboard, according to MSI Germany, would not have Ryzen 3000 support for BIOS. Well, MSI has had to release a statement stating that everything is due to an error.
MSI clarifies X370 and B350 chipset support for Ryzen 3000
During the last hours many users have asked MSI for explanations about why they would not update the BIOS. The company seems to have been working on a statement, denying everything. Finally, they will update the BIOS of the first generation Ryzen motherboards. What's more, the company has released a list of motherboards that will receive BIOS update.
“It has come to our attention that MSI Customer Support has unfortunately misinformed an MSI customer regarding the potential support for next-generation AMD CPUs on the MSI X370 XPower Gaming Titanium motherboard. Through this announcement we want to clarify the current situation.
At this point, we are still running extensive tests on our existing line of 4 and 300 series AM400 motherboards to verify potential compatibility of next-gen AMD Ryzen CPUs. To be clear: our intention is to offer maximum compatibility for as many MSI products as possible.
In anticipation of the release of Next Gen AMD Ryzen CPUs, we will release a compatibility list for MSI AM4 motherboards. Below is a complete list of upcoming BIOS versions that include support for next-generation AMD APUs for our AM4 300 and 400 series motherboards based on the latest version of AMD Combo PI version 1.0.0.0. These BIOS versions are expected to be released in May of this year. "
