MSI Z490 Unify and Z490I Unify, two new motherboards for the Intel Comet Lake-S
Next week the new Intel Comet Lake-S processors, which are based on 14nm lithography. These new processors are based on the new LGA1200 socket and will arrive with the Z490 and H470 chipset. MSI has added two new high-end motherboards, the MSI Z490 Unify and Z490I Unify.
As always, it seeks to offer the best possible benefits to users. For those looking for a full size system we have the Z490 Unify in ATX format. If you are one of those looking for something very compact, we have the Z490I Unify in mini-ITX format. Perhaps the highlight of these motherboards is that they lack RGB LED lighting.

Both motherboards are characterized by being high-end and completely lacking RGB LED lighting. These two new motherboard models with Z490 chipset and LGA1200 socket are complemented by WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. This connectivity is achieved through an M.2 2230 format module.
Both motherboards feature an Ethernet controller based on the Realtek RTL8125B chipset. For sound, these motherboards feature an ALC1120 chip with dedicated and enhanced sound circuitry for great audio quality. Both motherboards are also characterized by supporting DDR4 RAMD memory up to 4800MHz.

For its part, the Z490 Unify in ATX format has a 16 + 1 phase VRM system to power the processor and RAM. Two 8 + 8 pin PCI power connectors have been integrated. It also has three shielded PCIe 3.0 x16 slots that are compatible with PCIe Gen4. Three M.2 NVMe slots up to 22110, a Thunderbolt 3 port and a USB 3.1 Type-C connector for front panels have been integrated. The I / O panel is characterized by having a USB 3.2 Type-C, two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0 and three USB 3.1; and the most curious thing, no video output.

The MSI Z490I Unify mini-ITX form factor has an 8-pin 8-phase VRM PCI power connector. The number of PCIe 3.0 x16 connectors is also very limited, with only one of these ports, also shielded. It has two M.2 NVMe slots up to 22110 format. It integrates a Thunderbolt 3 header and a USB 3.1 Type-C for front connectivity. The I / O panel is the same as the previous one, with an HDMI and a DisplayPort.
