Synology Introduces NAS DS1621xs +, To Improve Performance
Synology Inc. has released its new DiskStation DS1621xs +. A tower device designed to meet the highest performance expectations.
This NAS combines a quad-core Xeon processor with built-in 10GbE and ECC memory, enabling you to improve file handling capabilities and deliver high-performance data storage.
Synology says that they have worked to adapt to the needs of all users. And that is why we know that not all companies have the necessary infrastructure to install a rack unit. He hopes DS1621xs + will solve this situation by offering great performance and superior processing capacity.
Fast and reliable microserver
The quad-core Xeon processor in Synology's DS1621xs + is the same one installed in the company's own data center devices. That processor provides more than 3,1 GB / s of sequential read performance and 1,8 GB / s of sequential write performance, enabling you to handle large data sets and multiple users quickly. Linking with ECC memory adds reliability, making this unit a perfect device for secure data storage. And all this with a size of 11,5 liters.
The six internal 3,5 ″ bays enable up to 96 TB of raw storage capacity. This can be applied up to 256 TB by adding two DX517 expansion units. The DS1621xs + also includes two M.2 2280 slots. These allow you to install an ultra-fast NVMe cache to improve storage capacity and speed without sacrificing bays.
Up to 10x faster network speed and DiskStation Manager technology
The 10 GbE built into the DS1621xs + allows you to complete large backup or file transfer tasks quickly and safely. The drive allows an additional 10 or 25 GbE card to be inserted to speed up and tackle high resolution network rendering projects. It will also provide even faster transfer performance for multiple virtual machines.
These tasks, along with managing data or working remotely, are simplified thanks to Synology DiskStation Manager, which They already use other products of the company. The operating system for Synology NAS devices enables improved productivity at work through its many applications. Users can create their own local cloud with Synology Drive and protect data located on PCs, virtual machines, SaaS, and much more with Synology Active Backup Suite.
