Noctua Introduces Three Heatsinks for Intel Xeon-Phi and Xeon Scalable Processors

Introduced three new heatsinks by Noctua, which have been expressly developed to support Intel Xeon-Phi and Xeon Scalable processors.

Cooling is especially important in server systems, which must combine cooling power and low noise levels. Noctua, one of the most prestigious brands in the world of refrigeration, has presented the new Noctua NH-U14S DX-3647, NH-U12S DX-3647 and NH-D9 DX-3647 4U coolers. These heatsinks have been designed for the Intel LGA 3647 platforms, where we can find the Scalable Xeon and Xeon –Phi processors, developed by Intel.

Noctua develops three heatsinks for the Intel Xeon-Phi and Xeon Scalable.

These new NH-U14S DX-3647, NH-U12S DX-3647 and NH-D9 DX-3647 4U heatsinks are based on the 140mm, 120mm and 92mm fan dimensions, respectively. Heatsinks have been developed with the compact 4U format servers in mind. Logically, these heatsinks are of a high quality and have been developed thinking in environments where low noise is very important.

They have been designed thinking only of the Intel LGA 3647 socket, used in the Scalable Xeon that are based on the Skylake-SP architecture and the Xeon-Phi. The contact surface of these heatsinks is 70x56mm, which is more than double that of the standard models, which allow a base that can absorb more heat from the processors. In addition, the design is focused on a very efficient heat transfer, through heatpipes, which ends in aluminum fins, for fast and effective cooling.

The NH-D9 DX-3647 4U solution is the most compact, being used for 4U-format rack-type servers, which will be installed in spaces where very low noise is required. The 120mm and 92mm models make use of dual fan configurations, which increases the performance of these heatsinks, despite their compact size.
