NVIDIA updates some GeForce Now servers to add RayTracing support
Some NVIDIA GeForce Now servers have been updated to support RayTracing technology, although the system is in beta.
This week at Gamescom, NVIDIA announced the arrival of GeForce Now on Android smartphones . The game streaming platform will launch in beta. Furthermore, the company has just revealed that it is updating its servers to add ray tracing. This allows GeForce Now users to enjoy games with real-time ray tracing.
The technology of tracing rays of light in real time or RayTracing, for the moment, is a minority. Currently games implement a small part of the functions that this technology allows, usually shading and reflections. Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be the first game to apply shading, refraction, reflection, and ambient occlusion in one game.
RayTracing comes to GeForce Now with a server update
An update that allows users to enjoy technology that they could otherwise only do with a major update. Now you can run any Triple A game that has support for this technology on Android smartphones, Apple computers and low-power computers.
Initially, only German and Northern California users will be able to enjoy the new RTX servers. The company has already said that these servers will be deployed in more areas in the future.
NVIDIA has also announced that they have a beta phase of the GeForce Now application, although there is no release date. The company has said that we should have a high-end Samsung and LG smartphone and Bluetooth controls are recommended. This to be able to comfortably play the different titles.
GeForce Now has been in beta since it was launched in 2017. The company needs to recharge, as Google seriously threatens Stadia. According to the company, in the coming months they could exit the beta phase, but there is no date or prices. In addition, it joins the competition from Sony and Microsoft, who work on solutions for cloud gaming.
