NVIDIA Ampere 7552 CUDA Cores is 40% more powerful than the RTX Titan

In recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about the possible potency of the new NVIDIA Ampere. The company's new architecture will be based on 7nm of TSMC, according to the company itself. NVIDIA Ampere, power to the beast

It is surprising to see that the first of the leaked GPUs has a whopping 7552 CUDA Cores and 118 SMs. Be careful, because the 118 SM could be a wrong reading, since it should be 64 SM, which is normal, so to speak. The GPU would be working at 1.11GHz and it would be a low frequency, in principle. The most interesting thing is that this graph would offer 16.7 TFLOPS, much more than the Xbox Series X, which will offer 12 TFLOPS.

To put it all in context, this graphic may not be the most powerful Ampere that NVIDIA is developing. The maximum would be 8192 CUDA Cores, which is a real eyesore. In addition, according to the Geekbench reading (which could be wrong) this GPU is accompanied by 24GB.

The graph in question offers a performance of 184.096 points, which is 40% more performance than the RTX Titan. It is possible that the working frequency is not the final one, it is just an engineering version, which are usually slow.

In addition, a graph with 6912 CUDA Cores and 197 SM has been filtered. This chart simply runs at 1.01GHz and would deliver a power of 13.9 TFLOPs. The reading shows 47GB, so we can understand that Geekbench is not reading memory well. This graphics card gives a performance of 141.654 points in Geekbench.

    The low frequency of the gpu Ampere may be because they are still in tests and that they are using a less refined manufacturing process for the tests (to save money), and then they will raise the frequencies when everything is calibrated and manufactured in about 7 nm good.

  2. Hopefully these graphics cards are very powerful and to see their true potential you should test them in their presentation with the heaviest games currently available.
