NVIDIA Ampere could be presented in May and hit the market at the end of June

Now new rumors indicate that NVIDIA Ampere will arrive in June, during Computex 2020, although they would be delayed in May

A few days ago NVIDIA was said to have delayed the release of NVIDIA Ampere until late 2020 or early 2021. This was alleged to be due to the shortly launching of an unannounced RTX 2080 Ti Super. Now the rumor appears that indicates that they could be announced during the GTC 2020. These new graphics cards already based on the 7nm lithography.

As indicated, they will first be announced in March at the GTC 2020. The high-end would be launched in June, specifically during Computex 2020. The top of the range would be the RTX 3080 and later a possible 'Ti' model will be launched. Although other information suggests that Jen-Hsun Huang would not be in a hurry to launch the Ampere architecture on the market.

NVIDIA could launch Ampere graphics in mid-2020

Jen-Hsun Huang is in no rush to launch Ampere as the Turing architecture is so well positioned. The competition from AMD is not very strong, at least at the high end and they do not offer support for Ray Tracing either. The RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti have no competition in the market from AMD.

AMD on the other hand would be preparing the arrival of new graphics with support for Ray Tracing with dedicated hardware. These graphics have been called by the company as the 'NVIDIA Killer'. Something that at the moment seems complicated and even more so when NVIDIA already has the Ampere architecture ready.

Chris Caso, Raymond James Analyst, NVIDIA has decided to delay the launch of Ampere for a few months. It would be at the GTC 2020 when I would present them, an event that takes place at the end of March. In addition, Chris points out that the company could introduce an Artificial Intelligence solution in Ampere. This AI solution would be data-centric, being a kind of TESLA accelerator based on Ampere.

The first product to arrive would be in June and it would be seen for the first time at Computex 2020. The source indicates that the improvement of the GTX 3080 with respect to the model would be very large, among others, due to the lithography. The RT cores for Ray Tracing should also be greatly improved.
