NVIDIA Ampere could have 8192 CUDA Cores and a frequency of 2.2GHz [RUMOR]

There is very little left for GTC 2020 where NVIDIA could unveil its new Ampere architecture graphics cards. These graphs are characterized by being based on the 7nm node and thus far the only 'safe' thing we know to date. There is little left until the event takes place and information about the new NVIDIA monsters does not stop leaking.

Rumors point to up to 50% more performance for the company's new graphics. There will be a GA100, according to rumors, with 8192 CUDA Cores and 48GB HBM2E, which is a real aberration. But in the Chinese forum Stage1 they point out that these graphs will have frequencies higher than 2.0GHz, which is crazy.

As always make it clear that rumors are like running water, you know it's there, but little else. These data are not supported by anything that we can verify, so we must take them with a grain of salt. Everything points to NVIDIA having a monster in the closet and when I release it, watch out.

The GA100 silicon will feature 8192 CUDA Cores, which is a brutal leap in raw power. But it is also that rumors indicate that this graph can reach 2.2GHz. To give us an idea, the Quadro GV100 reaches 1.627MHz, which is 35% more frequency. Note that the Quadro GV100 offers us a total of 16.6 TFLOPs in FP32 computing.

According to the number of CUDA Cores and according to the frequency, we could be hovering around 36 TFLOPs in FP32 computing, which is an aberration. We are no longer talking about a 50% power jump, but a 125% power jump. And all this on a graphics card with 48GB of HBM2E memory and a 300W TDP.

The truth is that the data gives vertigo and if they are real, AMD happens to have a problem really spectacular. As good as Big Navi is, it is impossible for AMD to double its graphics power to compete with NVIDIA Ampere. If these data are confirmed, we can now prepare the portfolio, because we could see a new increase in graphics prices.
