NVIDIA: Ampere would be delayed to late 2020, with the arrival of the RTX 2080 Ti Super in early 2020.
New rumors suggest that the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti Super is delayed and this means that Ampere, at the earliest, arrives at the end of 2020.
A few weeks ago rumors began about the presence of the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti soon. This graphics card has not been seen at the moment and has not been confirmed, for now, by NVIDIA. The new RTX 2080 Ti is rumored to hit the market in early 2020. This would cause Ampere-based graphics to be delayed until late 2020 at the earliest.
Turing has been an interesting move by NVIDIA, bringing ray tracing to video games . It's true that the number of games implementing this technology is limited. Turing graphics cards are very expensive, which detracts from the value of ray tracing integration.
Ampere could be delayed until the end of 2020 at the earliest
When NVDIIA introduced RTX Super graphics, it was noted that the RTX 2080 Ti would remain the most powerful on the market. The company said they would not launch a Super model of this graphics card, something that would no longer be the case. This model would not have been announced yet pending future moves from AMD.
If launched in early 2020, this would lead to Ampere launching in late 2020 or early 2021. Meanwhile AMD would be planning to launch Navi 20 sometime in 2020, possibly in the second half of the year. These new graphics from AMD should implement dedicated hardware for Ray Tracing.
The Ampere architecture should offer better quality in terms of Ray Tracing and more gaming power. These new charts would already be based on 7nm, while Turing is currently based on 12nm. We will see if all these information are confirmed in the coming weeks, since until then, they are simply rumors.
