NVIDIA proves that Apollo 11 reached the moon thanks to a demo with Ray Tracing

Apollo 11 landed on the Moon and this is demonstrated by NVIDIA with a demonstration that makes use of the new Ray Tracing technology.

That Apollo 11 landed on the Moon is proven thanks to NVIDIA. It's not that we're kidding, far from it. NVIDIA has released a demo of Apollo 11 with Ray Tracing that certifies that the moon landing was real, thus eliminating all doubts. The Apollo 11 demo was released a few years ago with Voxel Global Illumination technology in conjunction with Maxwell architecture, but now it has been enhanced for Turing complemented by Ray Tracing.

The new GeForce RTX graphics cards implement Ray Tracing technology for rendering light rays in real time and the company has wanted to use it to reconstruct the arrival of man on the Moon and thus clear up all doubts that may exist about whether it was true. or not.

This demo was presented by Jen-Hsun Huang last week during the GTC Europe presentation held in Munich, Germany. Huang highlighted about this demo: 'This is the advantage of NVIDIA RTX. Using this type of rendering technology, we can simulate the physics of light and things are going to look how they should look. '

We find this demonstration very interesting and you can see what this technology can contribute to the fields of research and exploration, because when it comes to games we have no idea how well it works, since at the moment there is no no title on the market that is compatible with this technology.

To update our original demo, NVIDIA engineers rebuilt the Apollo 11 moon landing scene on Unreal Engine 4, a game engine developed by Epic Games. They simulated how the sun's rays, coming from behind the lander, bounced off the moon's surface and off Armstrong's suit, to shed light on Aldrin as he stepped off the lander. 'NVIDIA said about the demo.
