NVIDIA could finally introduce Ampere in August, during Gamescom 2020
Theoretically this year NVIDIA will launch the Ampere architecture. This architecture is characterized by jumping from the 12nm of the current Turing to the 7nm of TSMC. This lithography leap can be a pretty beastly performance leap. Rumors indicated that NVIDIA would present or launch the Ampere graphics during GTC 2020 in March, although it could finally be during Gamescom 2020.
GTC 2020 focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Data Centers, so the launch would be for those markets. It is not clear if NVIDIA will talk about Ampere at that event, although it points to yes, but its launch will be later. At least the gaming graphics, which would be launched during Gamescom 2020 that starts on August 25.

First, because at Gamescom 2018 it presented the Turing architecture that gives life to the current graphics of the company. It indicates that weeks before the official announcement, NVIDIA contacted media outlets to finalize travel arrangements and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). It also highlights the extensive discussion surrounding Volta, an architecture designed specifically for Artificial Intelligence.
The truth is, an announcement or preview of the Ampere architecture during GTC 2020 is not out of the question. Furthermore, there's a lot of talk about the potential of these graphics cards. Remember that there's speculation about a 50% performance increase with a significant reduction in power consumption. It will also offer hardware for the most advanced ray tracing , bringing this technology to more users.
