NVIDIA could finally introduce Ampere in August, during Gamescom 2020
Theoretically this year NVIDIA will launch the Ampere architecture. This architecture is characterized by jumping from the 12nm of the current Turing to the 7nm of TSMC. This lithography leap can be a pretty beastly performance leap. Rumors indicated that NVIDIA would present or launch the Ampere graphics during GTC 2020 in March, although it could finally be during Gamescom 2020.
GTC 2020 focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Data Centers, so the launch would be for those markets. It is not clear if NVIDIA will talk about Ampere at that event, although it points to yes, but its launch will be later. At least the gaming graphics, which would be launched during Gamescom 2020 that starts on August 25.

NVIDIA could launch Ampere in August
The launch of the Ampere for gaming during Gamescom 2020 is not a crazy idea. First, because at Gamescom 2018 it presented the Turing architecture that gives life to the current graphics of the company. And secondly, because in September it is back to school and we are already heading towards Christmas, a prolific time to sell hardware.
Igor's Lab medium, which is the one who speculates about the launch of Ampere in August is based on the precedents. It indicates that weeks before the official announcement NVIDIA contacted the media to close travel plans and NDA. He also highlights that there was a lot of talk about Volta, an exclusive architecture for Artificial Intelligence.
The truth is that an announcement or preview of what the Ampere architecture will be during the GTC 2020 is not ruled out. In addition, there is much talk about the potential of these graphics. Remember that there is speculation about a 50% increase in performance with a notable reduction in consumption. It will also offer ray tracing hardware more advanced, bringing this technology to more users.
