NVIDIA could launch graphics cards based on TSMC's 2019nm in 7

First rumors about the possibility that NVIDIA will launch graphics cards based on 7nm lithography next year.

A few days ago AMD presented the Vega 20 GPUs based on 7nm lithography. Currently the one company that produces silicon based on these lithographs is TSMC, which apparently would already be working with NVIDIA to launch the company's first 2019nm-based GPUs in 7. Although there is no confirmation or technical data, speculation is beginning on a review of Turing for gaming, although NVIDIA usually tends to launch professional solutions before gaming.

NVIDIA would be working with TSMC for Turing @ 7nm GPU development for 2019

GlobalFoundries left the 7nm lithography race, leaving TSMC completely free and taking on a very important market, the manufacturing of silicon based on this lithography, which will generate historical benefits for the company by not having competition. Samsung and Intel are the only two competitors and of them Intel has problems reaching 10nm and does not manufacture chips for third parties, so it is not 'competition' either.

According to estimates, 20% of TSMC's revenues will come thanks to this new lithography, since there are many companies that are developing processors based on this lithography, among which are AMD, Apple, Bitmain, Qualcomm, NVIDIA and the list follow.

The specialized medium DigiTimes highlights that NVIDIA wants to launch chips under TSMC's 2019nm in 7, matching AMD in lithography, with the intention of taking advantage of the benefits in performance, power and density offered by this new process of manufacturing processors.

Although the information points to new GeForce RTX graphics cards, it is most likely that in 2019 the company will launch models for Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning, an industry that requires great computing power and where billions of dollars move. euros and that NVIDIA dominates alone by not having the slightest competition.

NVIDIA does not currently need to take anything out of the graphics card market, as it has no competition from AMD and may still be without competition next year. It should also be noted that it would be absurd to launch a new family of graphics when the new DLSS and Ray Tracing technologies have not yet been exploited in play and it will not happen until 2019, as far as we know.
