NVIDIA Quadro RTX Ampere with 10752 Cuada Cores is up and running

The NVIDIA RTX 3090's CUDA Cores count has surprised many, hands down. The RTX 3090 has 10496 CUDA Cores, but curiously it is not the most that an Ampere silicon can have. There is a graphics card that will make use of GA102 silicon with all active CUDA Cores, but for now it will not be a gaming graphics card, it will be the NVIDIA Quadro RTX Ampere.

It appears that NVIDIA is preparing a new Quadro RTX based on Ampere architecture and GA102 silicon. This graphics card will have a whopping 10752 CUDA Cores, a bit more than the RTX 3090. So there is a possibility of a hypothetical RX 3090 Super or Ti that has 10752 CUDA Cores and 24GB GDDR6X @ 21GHz.

If you are still clueless, NVIDIA Quadro graphics are developed for the professional segment. These graphics are used for scientific computing, Artificial Intelligence or for architecture, among others. They are characterized by being optimized for complex calculations and not so much for computing textures.

NVIDIA's new Quadro RTX based on the Ampere architecture is presented as a great solution. But something quite curious about this graph is that it will use 48GB GDDR6X @ 16GHz, which is strange. It does not use GDDR6X memory like the RTX 3090 or HBM2E memory like other Quadro from the company. This assumes that you will have a 384-bit memory interface with a bandwidth of 768GB / s. A lot of bandwidth is sacrificed when using these memories.

Little else is known about the Quadro RTX Ampere, which could be officially announced in the coming weeks. It should be noted that the Quadro RTX 8000 of Turing architecture was launched on the market for about 7.000 euros. This new graphics card could come out at the same price, but possibly twice or more powerful than the Turing graphics.
