NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti could have up to 8192 CUDA Cores @ 1750MHz
NVIDIA will hold its GTC 2020 digital conference on May 14th . The event will showcase the Ampere architecture, focused on the professional segment. According to reports, the company will discuss solutions for AI, Deep Learning, vehicle automation, and more. Now, information regarding the number of CUDA cores for gaming GPUs has been leaked in China.
As always, rumors and leaks are just that, rumors and leaks. We have seen on many occasions how all the rumors and bickering had little to do with reality. But the rise of CUDA Cores in NVIDIA graphics does not take anyone by surprise, as it is expected.
NVIDIA will add more CUDA Cores to its GPUs
The new solutions based on the Ampere architecture seem to come with a DIE with more of everything. The first reason to integrate more CUDA Cores, RT Cores and Tensor Cores, is to go from 12nm to 7nm. Turing is still based on 12nm lithography, but Ampere will already be at 7nm, so the jump in performance would be brutal.
Based on the leaked data, the RTX 3080 will have 4608 CUDA Cores, 144 RT Cores, and 576 Tensor Cores. The working frequency in Boost could exceed 2000MHz. This graphic will arrive in Q3 2020 accompanied by the RTX 3070 of 3584 CUDA Cores, 112 RT Cores and 448 Tensor Cores. For its part, this graph would have a Boost frequency higher than 1900MHz.
For Q4 2020 we will see the RTX 2080 Ti with 8192 CUDA Cores, 256 RT Cores and 1024 Tensor Cores. This graphics card would have a Boost frequency higher than 1750MHz. Finally for Q1 2021 we have the RTX 3060 of 2560 CUDA Cores, 80 RT Cores and 320 Tensor Cores. This graphics card will have a Boost frequency of over 2000MHz.
We once again indicate that these data are leaks and therefore, we must take them with caution.
