NVIDIA and AMD plan conferences for this summer

Scheduled for the month of August, an NVIDIA conference during Gamescom and in late July, an AMD event.

A few weeks ago we commented that NVIDIA had canceled a conference at the Hot Chips, because more than 300.000 graphics cards had been eaten. Well, it seems like a major change in plans, because it has been confirmed that NVIDIA will host an event during Gamescom to be held in Germany between August 21 and 25. But before, in the month of July, AMD plans to hold a conference, so it will be a pretty busy summer.

AMD and NVIDIA are planning events for this summer.

There is much talk about the arrival on the market of the GTX 11 Series, a graphics of new architecture and manufacturing process of 12nm FinFET from TSMC, which represents a great leap from the 16nm FinFET used in the current Pascals. We do not know what the performance of these graphics will be, but it is expected to be much higher compared to the current architecture.

The AMD conference will be at the end of July. The idea of AMD is not to present graphics cards, although something may drop, the idea really is to present the second family of AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors and also the new Ryzen 3 2000 Series quad-core processors. We may see new Vega graphics manufactured in 7nm, but nothing on the market, gaming, in this case they will be intended for the professional segment.

Micron would take at least two months to mass-produce GDDR6 memories, which would allow NVIDIA to announce new graphics cards next August, although it remains to be known if this will be the case, since recently the company has suffered some setbacks, but they have also decided to reduce the price of its graphics by 20% during the month of August.
