NVIDIA and ASUS Partner to Create First G-Sync VRR Monitor and 360Hz Refresh Rate
Monitors in recent years have evolved in a significant way, improving panels and refresh rates. NVIDIA during CES 2020 in collaboration with ASUS has presented a monitor with G-Sync technology and a refresh rate of 360Hz. The ASUS RoG Swift 360Hz monitor is the most advanced monitor on the market and possibly one of the most expensive we will see.
One of NVIDIA's biggest partners when it comes to G-Sync technology is ASUS. The company fully trusts this solution, although it involves a significant extra cost. This is because it requires a special additional module manufactured by NVIDIA, as opposed to FreeSync, which does not require additional hardware and is free of charge.

G-Sync VRR for gaming monitors
These new monitors from ASUS have a panel with a 360Hz refresh rate complemented by the G-Sync technology. A panel specially developed for competitive gaming, since they are the users who will get the most out of this type of monitor. We also need graphics cards with the ability to operate at such a high FPS rate.
Under the 360Hz refresh rate, each pixel is refreshed at 2.8ms, being up to 6 times faster than 60Hz screens or regular televisions. Something that is truly impressive.
Such a high refresh rate requires complementary technology to avoid technical problems. These are the tearing and flickering of the image, something that could easily occur at such a high refresh rate. For this reason, G-Sync VRR has been integrated, a hardware complement that dynamically adapts the frequencies according to the game and the user's need.
It is possible to improve reaction speed in games, increasing the precision and smoothness of the image. It allows to offer a better transition from one point to another, improving the accuracy of the shot and prediction of movements.
ASUS RoG Swift 360Hz monitor
The new ASUS monitor is nothing more than an updated version of the RoG Swift PG258Q with a new panel. The previous version of the monitor had a rate of 240Hz, making the jump to 360Hz.
Regarding the new monitor, it has a 24.5-inch panel with a FullHD resolution, which is logical for a competitive gaming monitor. It has a TN type panel that has been manufactured by AU Optronics. NVIDIA G-Sync guarantees us an adequate refresh rate that will avoid ghosting, tearing and flickering effects on the image.
