The new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2000 Series processors have been confirmed, which will be based on the Zen + architecture and 12nm lithography, which will allow an improvement in performance and efficiency.
The second generation AMD Ryzen processors were recently released, which are based on the Zen + process and 12nm lithography. Today we learned more about Ryzen PRO, APUs for notebook PCs and OEM PCs, which include trimmed Ryzen processors and RX Vega graphics cores. The next step of the company is the Ryzen Threadripper 2000 Series processors, which, how could it be otherwise, are based on 12nm, something that will improve efficiency and increase frequency, to improve performance.
There is not much data about these new processors, but taking into account the number of cores of the EPYC, we could see an increase in the number of cores, for example, although what is certain is that the working frequency will increase. These new processors should have the same PCIe lanes as current models and little else, since they are not expected to implement new technologies in these processors.
These processors will arrive, theoretically, during the third quarter, or what is the same this summer. The Threadripper 2900X (YD290XA8U8QAF), the Threadripper 2920X (YD292XA8UC9AF), and the Threadripper 2950X (YD295XA8UGAAF) will specifically arrive. These processors are expected to be compatible with current Threadripper motherboards and will once again compete with Intel solutions on price.
They have become a very good alternative to Intel processors, since the price is below the competition and the performance is quite good. Also, the issues with the heatsinks have now been fixed, as special heatsinks were not initially released for these processors, due to the large size of the CPUs.
