Palit produces GTX 1060 intended for Ethereum mining

Cryptocurrency mining and production limitations are impacting the gaming market. NVIDIA to alleviate the first problem has released Turing architecture graphics only for mining. Well, Palit has seen business and is resurrecting the GTX 1060 for Ethereum mining.

Palit launches GTX 1060 models for mining cryptocurrencies like Ethereum

Currently the price of Ethereum oscillates around $ 1.500, making it profitable to mine it with whatever chart. Hence, many look for old graphics to put them to mine, regardless of consumption. NVIDIA has decided to block Ethereum mining, but there are no currencies with algorithms that can be mined with GPUs.

Many have seen business, including Palit, who resurrects the GTX 1060 after eight years and produces it again. This graphics card offers a power of about 22MH / s with a consumption of about 90W. To give us an idea, this graph generates about 1.5 dollars a day net, discounting the electricity.

The PCGamer medium has found that Palit is logging graphs based on silicon P106 in the ECC. The vast majority of registered graphics end up being launched on the market.

NVIDIA plans to launch the 30MH / s CMP 26HX based on the Turing architecture. The problem with this NVIDIA graphic is that it has a consumption of 125W. A GTX 1060 with frequency and voltage settings can be around 24-25MH / s and keep the consumption of 90W, being much more profitable. We assume this will be the reason why Palit is working on making GTX 1060 for mining.

We assume that if Palit sets out to produce GTX 1060 for mining, they are in demand. This could be a small oxygen balloon for the gaming market. Although the most optimistic forecasts indicate that until after summer we will not begin to see stable replacement of gaming graphics.
