Phison announces PCIe Gen5 relationship with AMD and Micron at Computex 2022

Phison Electronics Corp. has announced, as part of its Computex 2022 announcements; a strategic collaboration with AMD and Micron to build a cooperative PCIe Gen5 ecosystem to unify compatible products that elevate the gaming and creator experience. Phison's role will include delivering a controller PCIe Gen5 SSD which boasts a nearly 2x performance increase over the previous generation flagship. Will adhere to the same form factor power limitations M.2.

We are pleased to announce our cooperative effort with Micron and AMD to further the technological development of PCIe Gen5 storage offerings. This validates Phison's commitment to upholding customer-centric values. The E26 controller enables gamers to compete at the highest level and helps content creators maximize overall system performance for increased productivity.

The need for high-speed storage has increased with the popularity of the availability of 5G Wireless technology around the world. Phison has large-scale storage solution products on its Computex 2022 schedule. In addition to showing off the flagship PS5026-E26 PCIe Gen5 controller, the company will also showcase the following:

  • El first PCIe Gen4 BGA SSD which uses the PS5021-E21T controller.
  • Presentation of PS5027-E27T, a solution PCIe Gen4 without next generation DRAM designed to exceed the power requirements of mobile devices.
  • E18DC, an M.2 form factor data center solution for various workloads such as server booting and heavy reading.
  • PS8318, a UFS 3.1 solution aimed at a wide range of markets, including Virtual Reality and mobile.
  • E21T, a low power integrated industrial Gen4 solution. It has been designed to reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • The MPT series of car storage products.
  • The world's first PCIe 5.0 redirection IC certified by PCI-SIG.
