The new controller will allow offering very high transfer speeds, reaching 7400MB / s. This new controller has been designed under TSMC's 12nm manufacturing process. The controller comes with the proprietary CoXProcessors 2.0 co-processor, which will offer good efficiency and excellent performance.

It is positioned as an especially good solution for content creators and developers in general. For gamers, it doesn't make much sense, but it will give the system a boost in loads.
Phison PS5018-E18, how could it be otherwise, is based on the PCI Express 4.0 interface. It will offer up to 7400MB / s in read and up to 7000MB / s in write. It will be the first controller for units based on PCIe 4.0 that manages to overcome the barrier of 7GB / s transfer. With the 8 channels for random 4K performance it offers 1 million IOPS. This controller will support up to 8TB of storage, which is not bad at all.
