Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Xtreme motherboard first image
They publish the first image of the Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Xtreme motherboard, which is specially designed for Intel Rocket Lake-S processors

Rumors suggest that during CES 2021, which will be fully digital, Intel Rocket Lake-S processors will be presented. These new processors will be the last based on the 14nm node. Something interesting is that they will be compatible with Z490 chipset motherboards. But, they will also arrive with a new chipset and the Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Xtreme motherboard has been leaked.
This new Rocket Lake-S architecture is based on the Sunny Cove @ 10nm cores, but imported to the 14nm node. Cypress Cove, which is what the architecture for Rocket Lake-S is called, will natively support PCIe 4.0 and NVVI. Although Intel's big leap will be with Alder Lake-S, which will already be based on 10nm, will stop being monolithic CPUs and will implement many new technologies.

Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Xtreme motherboard leaked for Intel Rocket Lake-S
We can see in the image that this new Gigabyte motherboard will be the top of the range. What is striking about this motherboard is that it has 20 + 1 phases VRM, increasing a lot over the 16 + 1 configuration of the current Z490 motherboard. These VRM phases are covered by two large aluminum heatsinks joined by a copper heatpipe, all in black.
This motherboard will feature two shielded PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, also shielded. Although they are hidden by passive heatsinks, the motherboard has three M.2 NVMe SSD ports, of which two are based on the PCIe 4.0 interface.
Regarding connectivity, it seems that it will have a large number of USB ports. It will apparently have at least one 10GbE Ethernet port and may include another 2.5GbE. It will have Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6E, for wireless connectivity. Regarding the sound, it is expected to carry the Realtek ALC4080 chip.
At the moment we do not know the price and availability of this Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Xtreme motherboard
