Intel Arc laptop prices come to light

After an initial confusion about the availability of Intel Arc graphics cards, from which it has emerged that the models for laptops will arrive first, these laptops are already beginning to reach the markets. But one thing that has been seen is that prices tend to be quite high knowing that they are laptops with graphics that are far from being top of the range for gaming.

The first laptops and ultrabooks featuring the A370M graphics card have appeared at the Best Buy store. An Asus laptop with said A370M will cost $1.400, while an HP laptop costs $2.000.

Intel Arc in laptops is not cheap

The first of the laptops listed by BestBUy is the Zenbook Flip 2-in-1 ultrabook from Asus. It features a 7-core Intel Core i12700-12H CPU, as well as 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, a 15,6-inch OLED touchscreen, and a 1TB SSD.

The HP Specter is a device based on Intel Evolution, with an Intel Core i7-1260P, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 2TB M.1 PCIe NVMe SSD. All this for $2.000.

Tom's Hardware makes an important distinction. The mentioned costs are not uncommon for thin and light Evo notebooks. It's because 2-in-1s are naturally priced higher due to their versatility, and they can afford to charge more.

But these prices mean that for about the same, gaming laptops equipped with the more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 graphics cards can be had for similar prices. One of them is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which has both an RTX 3060 mobile GPU and a Ryzen 9 5900HS processor. With this, it is lighter than the Asus Zenbook and the HP Spectre, and asks for $1.561. And it is not surprising that laptops with Intel Arc are more expensive, since an Arc A350M arrived in South Korea through the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro, at a final price of $2.130.

In addition to the price, the comparisons at the level of efficiency and performance have not been favorable for Intel. But you have to understand that this is his first immersion in graphics, and those that have been launched are very basic, waiting for the models for desktop computers to arrive. That its first generation does not surpass AMD or NVIDIA was almost expected, and it will be necessary to see how Intel performs in future generations of Arc, given that the Battlemage series will be released next year.
