Ryzen 9 4950X at a frequency of 4.8GHz or… maybe the Ryzen 9 5950X?
AMD's Zen3 architecture would already be ready and the first units would have already started to be manufactured. These processors are expected to hit the market in the autumn of this year, with a significant improvement in IPC. Now the Ryzen 9 4950X processor has been seen, which will be the company's new flagship at a higher frequency than the current model.
Note that there are new rumors regarding the Zen3-based Ryzen and that AMD could change the name. The launch of the Zen4000-based Ryzen 4000H, Ryzen 4000U, and Ryzen 2G would create confusion with the newer processors. It seems that for this same reason AMD would have made the decision to change the Zen5000 processors to Ryzen 3.

Until now, AMD had launched APUs within a new family of processors with an older architecture. The number of solutions released was relatively small and did not lead to much confusion. But with the release of several dozen Ryzen 4000 processors, the name could be a huge mess for users. Right from the beginning, the decision on the names of the APUs was not very well received and generated confusion.
Regarding the Ryzen 4950X (or whatever it is finally called), it would be based on 16 cores and 32 threads. In this aspect there are no changes, the change is in the changes in the cache and improvements in the frequency. The base frequency would be 3.5GHz and in Boost mode it would reach 4.8GHz, which is 100MHz more than the Ryzen 9 3950X.
These new Ryzen Vermeer processors will arrive with voltage settings to improve efficiency and facilitate overclocking. Theoretically they come with 7nm + lithography, an improved and optimized version of the current 7nm lithography. Perhaps what is most interesting is to know how AMD is going to name them, since for the rest, the improvement would be discreet.
