PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Officially Announced
A new Vega Nano model is launched, specifically the PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Nano with a compact design but equally high consumption.
The AMD RX Vega Nano have passed without pain or glory so far, what's more, it seemed that they had completely disappeared from the map like all Vega 10. Although Vega has been eclipsed by Pascal and they are Ray Tracing-light of the Turing, but PowerColor has announced a new version of the RX Vega 56 Nano to offer a discrete performance with a large consumption but in a small package.
PowerColor presents a new Radeon RX Vega 56 Nano model.
This graphics card is based on a very compact ITX format with a length of only 170mm long that makes it compatible with the most compact chassis on the market. It has a dual slot cooling system based on a block of aluminum fins based on a set of nickel-plated copper heatpipes with a large fan to enhance the cooling of the GPU.
Regarding the specifications, it has a Vega 56 chip with 3548 Shaders Processors working at a base frequency of 1156MHz and in Boost mode it can reach 1471MHz. This is combined with up to 8GB of HBM2 memory with a 2048-bit interface with a working frequency of 800MHz. Regarding the outputs of these graphics, it has an HDMI and three DisplayPort outputs.
The Vega's energy efficiency is really bad and the performance is well below expectations and using HBM2 for these graphics only makes the price more expensive and seems like a makeshift temporary solution to gain some performance. We will see if Navi based on 7nm lithography is much more efficient and its performance is up to the market demands.
