First images of the NVIDIA GTX 1180 ... specifically of its PCB
Images of the supposed PCB of the new NVIDIA GTX 1180 graphics cards appear, with some quite interesting peculiarities with respect to the current models.
Leaked, apparently, the naked image of the NVIDIA GTX 1180 PCB, which shows us the distribution of all the components although they have not been arranged for the photo. The image shows where the video connectors will be located, the distribution of the memories around the GPU, the VRM phases to power the system and two power connectors.
NVIDIA GTX 1180 PCB shown completely bare.
Despite the fact that the image may or may not be real (everything would indicate that it is real), the amount of information leaks from the new graphics is increasing, which indicates or usually indicates the proximity of an official presentation. It should be noted that NVIDIA has mounted a great event during Gamescom called GeForce Gaming Celebration where they have invited many media (including us, although we will not be able to attend in person) and attendance is strongly encouraged, indicative that something happened.
The PCB image is important in two points. The first in the upper left area, where the SLI connector is replaced by a new connector, quite similar to the NVLink, which would indicate that the SLI is disappearing because it is obsolete and a more powerful solution is being chosen. The upper right area shows us two 6 + 8-pin PCIe power connectors, which indicates a reduced reference consumption.
A curious and striking aspect is that the GPU is shifted a few millimeters upwards and therefore the memories are almost at the cut of the PCB. They are usually more focused. The reason is in the circles that will be used to anchor the heatsink, which would show a powerful heatsink to keep the temperature of the PCB very well controlled.

Does that PCB remind me of the old VESA bus cards?
