The first RTX 5000 are already rumored for next year

As soon as we have received the RTX 4000, the first rumors of the RTX 5000 are already appearing, with a view to a possible launch next year. For various reasons, the RTX 4000 are not being a sales success and we will have to see how NVIDIA reacts to these sales, but most likely we will hardly see their impact on the RTX 5000.

During Jensen Huang's keynote at Computex 2023 last week, NVIDIA CEO mentioned Hopper Next architecture; that it would be a successor to the Hopper architecture for data centers, enterprises and use in Artificial Intelligence. It is rumored that Hopper Next could also be used on cards for games.

Hopper Next would be what would give life to the RTX 5000, if the first rumors are true

YouTube channel RedGamingTech claims that the Hopper Next architecture "it's basically Blackwell", the codename for Nvidia's next line of gaming GPUs. The rumor is that Hopper Next will be used in different product segments, including GeForce RTX 5000 series GPUs plus high-performance computing (HPC) parts for AI and other business uses.

The Blackwell architecture is said to offer a noticeable performance increase over the Ada Lovelace architecture. Some of Techradar's tests with the 4060GB RTX 8 Ti show that the previous generation RTX 3060 Ti achieves higher FPS. With Blackwell, there's talk of a XNUMXx performance improvement, and that ray tracing will probably be a big item for Nvidia. It is not surprising because it is one of the greatest graphic advances that does not imply improving the graphic demands.

The RTX 5000 series is expected is based on TSMC's 3nm process node. Huang confirmed that he may turn to Intel for future chip manufacturing. The CEO said early test results of an Intel-made Nvidia chip based on the former’s next-generation process node had been good, and that the two companies are “evaluating the process” to see how best to move forward.

For now, any release date for the RTX 5000 is just a rumor. They could well come out in mid-2024 and this year is full of leaks, as it already happened with the launch prior to the RTX 4000. Now, we just have to wait and see if NVIDIA has been able to make changes by reacting to the poor sales of the RTX 4000 in general.
