It's been less than two weeks since NVIDIA officially announced the RTX 3090 Ti at CES 2022, and now it seems there have been production issues. Recent rumors suggest that NVIDIA has halted production of its new high-end GPU.
When they announced it, they said that at some point this month they would show the full details of it, which is only known to have 40 Teraflops for shaders, and that it has 24 GB of GDDR6X. With the recent rumor of the production stop, it seems that these plans have had a little change at the last minute, but they could well announce it as planned and not give details such as its launch or final price.
Possible problems manufacturing the RTX 3090 Ti
According to TweakTown, Nvidia has asked its Add-in Board (AIB) partners to pause production of the company's new flagship GPU. But the companies have not been given the reason why NVIDIA has requested this action.
The Videocardz portal states that there was supposed to be some kind of information embargo lifted last week, which would have been cancelled. The card should have been launched on January 27, with what would have been a streaming of information with immediate opening of reservations.
They also claim that the RTX 3090 Ti will have a TDP of 450W, the highest of any GPU ever, 100W more than the regular RTX 3090. This would be for the time being, given that the RTX 4000 codenamed Ada Lovelace is also expected to be launched by the end of the year, which would be two ampere graphics cards together, with the consequent increase in energy consumption. Nor is the price known, which some estimate between 2.000 and 3.000 dollars.
