Prosiphon Elite heatsink will soon be compatible with Alder Lake

El world's largest cpu cooler, the Prosiphon Elite, will soon be compatible with the socket LGA1700 who started the generation Intel Core Alder Lake. The shape of this generation's CPUs combining performance and efficiency cores means socket adapters are needed if users want to adapt their coolers so they don't have to buy a new dedicated one.

IceGiant, the company behind the Prosiphon Elite cooler, has not specified an exact date, but claims that compatibility with the "It will arrive soon«. Hopefully, as many other manufacturers have done, they will offer users a conversion kit so that the contact fits into the Intel Alder Lake CPU socket with a little thermal paste.

A great heatsink for Alder Lake

With dimensions of 164x251x104mm and a total weight of 2kg, the Prosiphon Elite heatsink works similarly to a thermosiphon. The processor boils the liquid inside the evaporator of the refrigerator, so that the vapor is directed towards the three condenser cores and then the cold air passes through the condenser to convert the vapor back to liquid, and finally gravity pushes the liquid back to the evaporator.

Its four 120mm fans take care of active cooling in the Prosiphon Elite. The fans exert a static pressure of 3,3 mmH2O and can achieve rotational speeds of up to 2.300 RPM with a maximum noise level of 32,2 dBA.

The Prosiphon Elite is already compatible with many intel sockets and AMD, and being a high-end heatsink, it is understandable that they want to adapt it to Alder lake, which is the new high-end. Since it can already deal with AMD's Ryzen Threadripper, which boasts of having a lot of many cores, it is very likely that none of the Alder Lake will resist it, knowing also that many Alder Lake cores are of efficiency for minor jobs.
